About Barron Barn

Jill has had a life-long passion for horses and education. Luckily, she has been able to marry her passions with Barron Barn. After obtaining her Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Alberta, Jill taught middle school students for five years before taking off to explore the world and extensively train horses in Italy and Australia. After returning home to Canada, Jill knew she wanted to continue training and educating riders and Barron Barn was born.

Located in the beautiful foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, this Calgary equestrian center is a safe, caring environment where riders discover superior horse training, horse boarding, horseback riding summer camp and more. Jill’s passion for education helps her shine with her renowned summer riding camps. Participants will enjoy many hours in the saddle while developing riding and leadership skills. Featuring an indoor arena, spacious outdoor arena, idyllic riding trails, and more, Barron Barn ensures an amazing, educational experience for all who visit regardless of experience level.

Horsemanship basics, although seemingly simple, are crucial to perfecting a balanced and effective partnership between horse and rider. Jill ensures the same principles and core ideas are woven through the many disciplines she teaches. Her programs focus on the concepts of timing, feel, and balance. Through a blend of classical techniques and natural horsemanship, Jill encourages a deeper connection between horse and rider.

Jill’s expertise has won her global accolades and taken her on many trips around North America, working in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, British Columbia and Alberta as a clinician and judge. She has also enjoyed working on movie sets and in music videos. Jill also has significant expertise in dressage, obstacles and speed, barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, team roping, break away roping and working cowhorse.
